Your Body, Your Mind

Your body is created just for you.  It mobilizes you, keeps you heated and cooled, teaches you when to stop and slow down and is made to last a lifetime. We should treat our bodies with the respect they deserve.  We should nourish them with healthy foods (yes you should eat that chocolate brownie) but treating it with moderation.  We should exercise it-the heart beats faster and better if we raise the heart rate and lower it.  Take a nice long walk, a short walk, do something that allows the muscles to move and stretch freely.

Look around you; we are constantly surrounded by disease, cancer, sickness.  What makes you think you are any different if you aren’t making healthy lifestyle choices? Stop being an average Joe and start being the magnificent you.

Your mind has a lot to do with the reflection of your body.  If you are constantly saying “I need to lose weight” your mind is always going to think that you need to lose weight.  Start setting a goal for yourself i.e.: I want to be ___lbs by spring.  Start making the right choices that lead you to that goal.  Stop making excuses like “I am too tired” or “I don’t really feel like going.” You’re never going to lose that weight if you don’t believe in yourself.

Stop having an unrealistic version of skinny.  No one wants to look like they are starving themselves; you should never starve your body.  We are not 16 years old anymore, it’s time to wake up and realize that curves are amazing and that the important part of weight loss is a healthy weight loss.

Lastly, allow your mind to heal yourself.  Try a yoga class, try meditation, get a relaxation massage, whatever it is get out of your comfort zone and start doing it today.  Don’t wait around for tomorrow because tomorrow you’ll again wait around for the next day.

Stop living for someone else and start living for you.

“The mind is everything. What you think you become.  –Buddha”
