My Investment

It's interesting how the world embeds in our brains the importance of investing.  We must always be investing our money for our retirement, for our kids schooling, for a cottage someday, for the what if's and the maybe possibilities.  We focus all of our attention on money and finances constantly that we forget about investing in other important matters; your life.
We are constantly focusing on money and how we are paying for things, what our paychecks are paying for and we are brain washed into thinking that we need to put thousands and thousands of dollars away for our futures.  But what happens if our futures become blurry and shortened? What happens if we stop living paycheck to paycheck worrying about all our bills and finances for one day to wake up and realize that most of it doesn't matter?

I believe that money matters to a certain degree.  However, I believe that life is so short and so special that that in itself is way more important.  We are stashing money away for a future that we may never reach.  We are investing in materialistic things that we may never get.  Instead of investing just in financial matters we should be focusing all of our attention on investing in ourselves, our loved ones, our friends, our dreams and aspirations.

Focusing on investing in you makes much more sense.  We can see the hourly/daily changes that occur when we invest.  Live your life doing what exactly it is that makes you happy and investing in the extra curricular activities that are on our bucket lists seems much more satisfying and is immediately rewarded.  Spend that extra hour driving around the city with the lights on, spend that extra time playing hide and go seek, spend that valuable time we call life making yourself and your loved ones happy.  One day we may wake up and realize that we cut ourselves short, left ourselves with no extra "money" and wondering what it would've been like if you invested more of your life into time.

Time is something we will eventually run out of, money can be taken to our graves.
