Quiet Time

The sound of the wind blowing through the trees.  The sound of the water trickling down the sink.  The sound of birds singing to one another.  The sound of your heart beating through your chest.  The simple sounds that surround us on a daily basis are often those that aren't heard enough or are simply forgotten.  When was the last time you sat with no phone, no TV, no WiFi around you and really took in the simple sounds of the world?
It's quiet time.  Shut off the regular routine noises, turn your computer and television off.  Silence your phone and leave it somewhere that won't disturb you.  Close your eyes and hear with your ears.  Listen to the simple sounds the world has created for you instead of mankind.  Take a deep breath in, a deep one out, and listen to the sound your heart makes through your chest.  Envision this noise trickling like water through the veins of your body.  Listen to the love that is received from your breathing to your heart.  Acknowledge the way this makes your body feel.  Now listen harder, what do you hear? Does your internal voice have your attention? What is it that it is trying to tell you.

Listen to the bullfrogs preaching to one another, listen to the laughter from the children in the distance, listen to the trees crack, listen to the sincere sound of life around you that somehow has been forgotten.  Listen as if it's the first time you've ever heard that noise. Keep your eyes shut, smell the fresh air, breath deeply, consume immediately.

Listen, breathe, listen.
