A Piece of Stillness

Constantly rushing to do the next thing, racing to get somewhere, running for the next activity, quickly making dinner, driving fast through the roads, hurrying up to get to bed; it never really stops unless we stop.  We seem to miss some important things in our lives because we are always looking to get the next thing done.  We seem to be doing things all backwards and wrong.  We don't just enjoy what we are currently doing.  We get to where we want to be and then we begin to start all over again with what is next.  Stop. I ask you to stop.  I ask you to bask in the stillness.  I ask you to find a piece of stillness within and stay there.
Take your time, yes YOUR time.  Your time is valuable and important.  Sit in a place of stillness even if it is for only a few minutes.  Find a place within yourself and allow your thoughts to come and go as they please but without any heaviness on them.  Let all that happened within your day go and just sit in stillness.  Listen to the sounds all around you.  Smell the air that is in your stillness and stay there.  Bask in your stillness and be present.  Allow your body to drape over you and let your body release.  Find your stillness.

There is no where else you need to be, nothing else you need to do; the laundry and cleaning can come later.  You are safe in your stillness and nothing around you will harm you.  Just let go and be. At this moment, time does not exist only you and the stillness within you do.

I am a busy mom, a caregiver, a wife, a cook, a cleaner, a therapist, a doctor, a taxi driver, an entertainer, a yoga teacher, a life coach, a guidance counselor, a mediator, a friend.  I am all of these things and wouldn't change it for the world.  In the midst of my hectic, happy, peaceful life I can still find a piece of stillness.  When I find that piece of stillness within I feel safe, at ease and whole.  

Find your piece of stillness and when you do I promise a piece of magic will happen.
