Have You Ever?

Have you ever just noticed, I mean, really noticed what was surrounding you? Have you ever looked at someone you know like it was the very first time you've seen them? Have you ever just been so present in the moment that you've forgotten what has gotten you there? We are constantly moving so fast in our lives that we forget what is most important; our present. Life is busy, life is hectic, life is insane, life is tough, life is consuming; but what we forget to realize is the importance of our life and the meaning behind it.  We need to slow ourselves down and enjoy each moment before it passes us by.  We need to relish in the purity of it and enjoy it.  We are constantly trying to fight to get to work, get ahead in our jobs, make more money be better than the employee next in line that we end up in this turmoil of stress, anxiety, anger and we forget or don't see what is happening directly in front of us.

Perhaps it is as simple as the rain falling from the sky.  Noticing the pace, the purity, the lightness in it.  It could also be as simple as listening, and I mean really listening to the person you're talking to. The way their face lights up when they're describing their passions, or the sadness in their eyes.  Maybe it is your children playing in the garage using their beautiful imaginations like no one is watching.   It could also be that moment you have with yourself; when you've realized you are where you need to be; present.

Let's start making things more simple.  Start doing what makes you happy and stop worrying about how to make someone else happy.  Be exactly who you set out to be.  Do not let others skew your perception of you.  Be independent, rely on yourself.  Be thoughtful instead of thoughtless.  Be honest and grateful.

Have you ever?
